They were professional, polite and had wonderful personalities that helped us with our move. In today’s day and age it is really hard to find good people who truly take their jobs seriously and are representing their employer with such above average workmanship. In the fall of 2016 we contacted the major national moving companies to obtain quotes for a 5-bedroom house move from Kamloops, BC to Victoria, BC. We ultimately obtained quotes from four companies, including Bighorn/United Van Lines. The estimator from Bighorn who attended at our home in Kamloops was excellent. She was thorough and patient and answered all of our questions and gave us a number of helpful tips. We dealt with the booking coordinator over the phone and had an excellent experience. The communication was very good, and we felt well looked after. The pricing was competitive and we ultimately selected Bighorn as our mover. We were very happy with the move. The packers and movers showed up on time and worked courteously and efficiently. Our belongings arrived in Victoria precisely when had been indicated. Everyone in Kelowna I dealt with was professional and very accommodating - from Dawn in the office to receiving and the movers who ultimately took my stuff up to Big White.
The crew was fabulous - can't say enough good things about them. It was not an easy move and required a lot of revised attempts and out-of-the-box thinking. They were incredibly helpful and professional. They worked straight through and were willing to help with any matter - big or small. It was the most fun I've ever had moving! In particular the head mover (tall skinny one that did the paperwork) was incredibly helpful, with a real can-do attitude. Zero complaints - he just got on with it even when things were proving difficult (with the access). He found solution and made them work. I was so grateful to him.
The best thing for me was the way Dawn was on top of what was happening and making recommendations on how to handle the move. If she hadn't suggested having 3 instead of 2 movers we may not have been able to complete the move.

I’m Dr. Marc Nimchuk, I'm a chiropractor here in Kelowna. I've been in Kelowna for about ten years. We did a local move at the end of April 2021. We chose Bighorn because we were just aware of their reputation for being a full-service moving company with strong local ties.
We called Bighorn, they came in and did a full quote for us, ran us through what their proposal for the move was, and we're just really impressed with their customer service and their thoroughness and so we decided to go with them.
The biggest challenge we had in Kelowna — at this time — was moving and the whole process of selling, it was very busy. We probably moved at one of the busiest times Kelowna’s ever had. My name is Wes Forgione. I'm a lawyer here in Kelowna. I got to know Nathan pretty well and typically I've always moved myself. So, the last time my family and I moved, we decided that we weren't going to do it ourselves because we have a 15 month old. And so, we hired Bighorn and they did an excellent job.
I came across Bighorn because I got to know Nathan — who runs Bighorn — pretty well. He always came across to me as very professional, so he was top of mind. The last time my family moved, we packed our boxes ourselves, but Bighorn came with a crew of three the morning of the move. And they had the entire truck filled within two hours. And I just recalled my university years and having to fill a truck myself and it sucks.
So, I just remember sitting there, drinking a beer, as they filled the truck and I was like, “Yeah, I'm never moving myself again. I remember when they (the movers) were lugging our extremely heavy barbecue up to our rooftop, I was drinking a beer and thinking I will never move myself again. The team was super friendly, super responsible. They were careful going around corners and walls and you know, they were fast. It was good, it was all around good.
I would definitely recommend Bighorn to friends and family. I've told a few people — who are moving themselves — that story about watching them carry the heavy barbecue up to the rooftop and just thinking I'm never moving myself again!

Hey, my name is Jon Miller, we just had a local move in the Okanagan with Bighorn Moving and Storage — and, it was fantastic!
So, some challenges that we faced were, we were looking to move some pianos, a lot of furniture that was old and heavy, and antiques. So, it was just trusting people to like to move things properly and get it in. And just the difficulty of it, we didn't want to do that. I have a bad back, so I can't move myself.
It was great, my favorite part about the move with Bighorn is it was worry-free and stress-free. All the heavy lifting was done for me. I didn't have to think about anything, it was just done and we got to relax.
