Will I need coverage for my last-minute move?
Yes. Bighorn offers two types of move protection coverage, including:
- Released Value Protection. Included in all of Bighorn’ moving costs, released value protection covers your belongings at a value of $0.60 per pound/per article.
- Replacement Value Protection. Bighorn will repair or replace your item at its current market price.
What is considered a last-minute move?
A last-minute move usually takes place within one-to-three weeks of your moving date. A last-minute move can occur for several reasons, such as:
- A job promotion in another city
- A sudden sale of your home or business
- Friends/family backing out from helping you move
- Your original moving company not showing up
- A rental lease not being renewed
When should I schedule my last minute movers?
To ensure availability, you should schedule your move as soon as you know your moving date. Contact Bighorn to book your movers.
Does a last-minute move cost more than a regular move?
Not necessarily. All moving costs are based on several factors, including:
- Distance
- Service provided
- Number of hours
- Weight of items
- Number of crew needed
- Coverage

How can I make packing for my last-minute move more efficient?
It helps to prepare. If you plan on packing your belongings yourself, start early and make a moving checklist of all the things that need to be done and when. If you’re unable to get all your packing done in time, contact our Kelowna movers and packers about our content packing and unpacking services.
I need to move out right away, but my move-in date has been delayed. Can you help?
Yes. Bighorn offers all-inclusive moving and storage services if you’re stuck between your moving-out and possession dates. We will load your belongings and take them back to our secure Kelowna warehouse facility until you are ready to have them delivered.
Does your Kelowna moving company disassemble and reassemble furniture?
Yes, our professional crew disassembles furniture such as dining room tables, bed frames, and desks and reassembles these items at your new location. Smaller items such as coffee and night tables, dressers, and chairs will likely not require disassembly. We also do not disassemble cribs or change tables.
Can I cancel or change the date of my move?
If your moving plans change, it's important to contact your move coordinator as soon as possible. Those cancelling a move at the last minute will be affected by Bighorn's cancellation fee policy. Please read all the information in your moving contract to understand what’s involved.
